Gluten free skin care

The  term “Gluten-free” appeared on cosmetic products not so long ago to serve a particular consumer group: those who are sensitive to gluten, have a wheat allergy or celiac disease (a genetic form of gluten sensitivity).

Since then, there have been many discussions in the beauty and health community about whether it really helps to switch to a gluten-free skin care and makeup routine.

Many argue that the molecules that cause gluten intolerance are actually not absorbed into the skin (due to the size of the molecules), so that actually gluten-free cosmetics is just a marketing gimmick. However, they can be transmitted through lipsticks, hand creams or other products that come in contact with the lips.

On the other hand, there are those who get allergic reactions from skin care products with barley or wheat, regardless of what scientific research says about the type of gluten sensitivity.

Depending on how you design your life style around your gluten sensitivity, we want to make sure that you are able to make the best choice for you. Therefore, we have researched the list of ingredients that could potentially cause problems if you have some form of gluten sensitivity.
